| Introduction |
A properly implemented programme of risk
assessments can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property
damage incidents and other losses. |
| Course Aims |
This course aims to introduce delegates to
the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1978 (N.I) and enable
them to complete risk assessments in their workplace. |

Elements of study within the syllabus include
the following:
- Managing Health and Safety within the framework of the law
- Understanding the legal requirements
- Health & Safety policy and contents
- Implementation of the Health & Safety at Work Act
- Structure of Risk Assessment for work area
- Identifying hazards
- Calculating risks
- Prioritising results
- Introducing controls
- Maintaining and reviewing systems.

| In addition to the training programme
students will be required to complete an assignment requiring some research
and the preparation of a report which may take between 3-6 hours depending
on individual circumstances and ability. |
