Aim of Course | The Security Industry Authority (SIA) manages the licensing of the private security industry as set out in the Private Security Industry Act 2001. This scheme aims to regulate the private security industry by protecting society by achieving high standards for all. From 1st December 2009 an SIA licence is legally required if you undertake the licensable activities of a security guard in N. Ireland. |

Who should attend | A Security licence is required when manned guarding activity, that does not fall under the descriptions above of door supervision, close protection, cash and valuables in transit, or public space surveillance (CCTV), is undertaken. This applies only if services are supplied for the purposes of or in connection with any contract to a consumer. |
Course aims | This course aims to provide anyone working in this industry with skills to develop their knowledge and to provide the necessary qualification to help participant achieve the licence.
